The bars are made and transported in a clean environment. Furthermore, our bars are ready to eat or alternatively can be pocketed and washed, much like an apple. Nurhu bars are also available in multipacks where they will be covered until use.

The bar is protected by an edible coating. It is a very thin layer so you cannot taste it at all when chewing. It is completely natural, has no effect on the body and like fibre, it passes through your digestive system.

The label is edible wafer paper, printed with edible ink.

We use UK ingredients sourced sustainably where possible. A number of our ingredients are organic.

The bars contain oats (gluten), nuts and soy.

Our products are not vegan since they contain bee derived products.

No, the oats and soy have gluten.

Since the whole of our product is edible, that means the label and ink are too. Edible inks use food colourings which can also be labelled as E-numbers. E-numbers are just used as shorthand for most things added to food, even common food ingredients like vitamin C which is E300 and citric acid which is E330.

All the cardboard in our multipacks is FSC cer tified and recyclable, with our retail display packs also being fully recyclable. In all of our packaging, we use glue-free designs so that none of the cardboard is rejected when it gets to the recycling plant.

Our bars are chewy to prevent the ingredients underneath the edible coating distor ting leading to the coating breaking. This means Nurhu bars can survive being in a customers pocket dur ing any activity (we even had someone take one windsur fing)!

Glucose syrup is an essential binding agent for our dry ingredients. Many companies bind their bars by using a chocolate coating or baking them, which are bad environmentally. Thus, we opted to cold press our bars to keep energy use during manufacturing down.

The shelf life is 12 weeks, however following further testing we expect this to be 6 months or more.

We are par tnered with Foodsteps; a food rating company that assess environmental impact of food products. We have gone to great lengths to make sure our bars taste great while being sustainable.

In addition, our bars are compressed and not baked to keep energy used in production low. We have opted to not include environmentally harmful ingredients such as chocolate in our bars due to environmental implications.
